‘In this day and age, farmers are not really that important, we now get our food from KFC, canned food companies, and street vendors’, says Vusi Shongwe MEC for Agriculture

The Mpumalanga MEC for Agriculture‚ Rural Development‚ Land and Environmental Affairs‚ Vusi Shongwe has spoken out about the issue of land expropriation without compensation in the  province and the country as a whole.
Speaking at the Mpumalanga Government Complex on Wednesday morning, Shongwe said though the act land expropriation without compensation poses a threat on agriculture in the province and the country, South Africans must not worry because in this modern age,  food does not come from farms but from places like KFC and Nando’s.
“In this day and age, farmers are not really that important, we now get our food from KFC, canned food companies, and street vendors” he said.

Shongwe urged the people of the province to support these businesses as they are the ones that really feed the nation.
